Don't procrastinate. When you wait, it creates additional challenges. It impacts the time for others involved and can create unnecessary stress. So plan ahead and dont't wait. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
Right is right and wrong is wrong. If you work for a company that's doing something wrong, you should speak up. If it's that big of a deal or if it goes against your personal or family values, you may need to leave. This falls under a rule I have about who you work for. Once you start disagreeing more often than not with your company, your employer, your manager, or your leadership in the company, then you should leave before your asked to leave. Stand up for what's right and stand up for what's wrong. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others. Be open minded to other people's ideas. You may be surprised by a different viewpoint. You'll never celebrate enough birthdays where you finally learn all of life's lessons. And you don't have to agree with other's beliefs, but being open to others ideas is a good start to helping you reach your full potential. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
Sometimes you can't blog due to technical difficulties... It's the same with life, sometimes you don't say what you should. Speak up when you should and always have a back up plan. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
Make sure you listen to your customers. If you don't, they may shop elsewhere and might even pay more for someone to listen to them. If you are talking to customers in other parts of the country, make sure you adapt to that region's pace, tone, and inflection, or it may come across to the customer that you are not on the same level as them. And either way, that is not good when you are working to gain trust. So make sure you listen, and as one of my first sales managers told me many years ago, "you have two ears and one mouth so you can listen twice as much as you speak." Plus, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
Be a person of your word. When you do what you say, and say what you do, it displays your character and integrity. At your end of your life when you look back upon it, knowing you kept your word and were a person of character, you wil be extremely glad you did. Plus it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
make sure you praise from the pulpit and preach from the streets if you are a leader of people or a manager. What that means is that you tell good news in front of a group and you provide constructive feedback and discipline if needed behind closed doors. It helps build morale when you're talking people up publicly and keep behind closed doors the coaching and more private feedback. It also shows respect for your team and helps gain trust and momentum by recognizing people publicly. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
