What will you be known for?

Have you thought about what you will be known for? You get to decide by your words and your actions. So choose wisely what you say and do. For example, at work I am known for "making it happen." Whether it's making a big sale, achieving a sales goal, or building a winning team...I just go make it happen. How do I do it? With my experience, words and my actions. Figure out what you want to be known for and just go make it happen. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Don't lose or spend more than you make

Whether it's regarding your personal finances, your business, or the company you work for...you can't lose or spend more than you make. You have to out make or outsell more then you lose. Find a way to make more money or sit down and figure out a way to save less or cut costs. That's the only way a good business grows. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

You can't wish a win

You may have heard the quote from the French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupe'ry: "a goal without a plan is just a wish."

To take the quote a step further, I think it's important to understand that you can't wish a win. You have to put together a plan and execute it at a high level to win. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Know your customers

If you are in sales of any kind, get to know your customers. Work to build the relationship with face-to-face meetings, phone calls and emails. Remember the relationship is key and it takes time and communication to build trust in any relationship. If there is no communication, there is no trust. And if there is no trust, there is no relationship. Increase communication to build the relationship and trust. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Emotional Intelligence is key to leading teams. You can grow your EQ (Emotional Quotient) but you can't grow your IQ. So what will you do to grow your emotional quotient? Read a book on EQ or take a class. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Great customer service

During a recent trip to Arizona I experienced excellent customer service from a guy named Robby at the Four Seasons hotel in Scottsdale. He checked me in and upgraded my room when I arrived via cab earlier than check in time. When the golf cart shuttle to take me to my room took too long, he went and found a golf cart to personally drive me to my room, where he unloaded my luggage and took it into my room and placed it in the closet. He took customer service to a new level at a hotel for me because he didn't want me to wait, so he took ownership and took me to my room... he just made it happen. Thanks Robby for making my first impression of the Four Seasons hotel a memorable one. After all, Robby did the right thing and he modeled the way for others.

Celebrate

Take time to celebrate birthdays. It may just be a night out for dinner at your family member's favorite restaurant, and then cake and presents back at the house. Sometimes it's just awesome to keep it simple, celebrate with just your immediate family and create special memories. After all, enjoying time with those you love is the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Blunt

I believe it's better to be blunt and transparent than not say what's on your mind and mysterious.,People will trust the first and always wonder and question about the latter. Remember if there is no trust, there is no relationship. So build trust by being blunt and transparent. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
