Don't be anxious

7/31/2016

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Phillipeans 4:6-7 (NIV)

Fun (7/30/16 blog)

Have fun as a family. Laughter and smiles are the outcome of having fun. If you're not currently hearing a lot of laughter or seeing a lot of smiles and there's a lot of yelling going on, make sure you have a balance, and learn to have fun. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Laughter (7/29/16 blog)

One of your jobs as a parent is to create laughter in the home. It's one of the best things I remember growing up, even more than the strict rules. If you're not creating laughter now, make a change and start having fun and laugh. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Find ways to encourage your children to compete with you. Whether it's a fun game, playing the backyard, or any other fun or silly activity. It will create great competition and great memories and it will instill a competitive spirit in them as adults, which is rare in the workforce. Plus, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Who do you miss? Whether it's right now, occasionally, or when you travel. Make sure that you let them know and then find time to talk with them or spend time with them. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Sometimes when you're going on vacation there is some work you should have done, whether it's work-work or maybe a blog, and then you get behind when you come back. Sometimes when you go on vacation don't do work, just have fun and relax. It will help you stay more focused when you come back and help your overall mindset. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Watch your tone (7/25/16 blog)

You may have heard "it's not what you say, but how you say it." That references the tone in which you speak. You can say something, but if you use the right words but the wrong tone you can come across the wrong way or be received the wrong way. So watch how you say things. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Just because (7/23/16/16 blog)

Do you remember when you were a kid and your parents used to say "because I said so" or "just because." When you're an adult, somethings are just the way they are "just because." The sooner you realize that, the sooner you understand how and why the world works the way it does. It also gives you the opportunity to work to make an impact, and change the status quo. Learn to become a change agent. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Watch your words (7/22/16/16 blog)

Watch The words you say and use. Words have meaning and for example when you use words that don't build up people, but tear people down you can be viewed as someone that people want to stay away from. Also, watch the words you use about yourself, specifically in a job interview or conversation. It could be the single reason you don't move forward. Pay attention, pause and reflect what you want to say, and then speak. After all it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
