Take time to enjoy your backyard. Or if you don't have a backyard time to enjoy going to the park. Some of the best times you can have is running around playing or eating outside in the backyard with your family. It's those special times that create great memories to look back on enjoy. And when you're in empty-nester, when your kids are grown up and moved out, you can look at your backyard and have those memories of all those great times. Creating great memories in your back yard is the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
Take time to be just with your kids or they will help you understand you are not spending time with them. It's the right thing to do models the way for others. Today's blog is a celebration of my father, born in 1938. He would have been 76 years old today. He loved Jesus, was a good husband, a good father, a good grandfather, a good friend, a true gentleman, a good salesman, a good leader, a good provider, a good protector, a hard worker, and much more. I miss him every single day. So here's to you Dad! Thanks for doing all you did, and now that I have a family of my own and two small children I'm not sure how you did it all with three kids and a wonderful wife. For those of you that have one or both of parents still alive, make sure that you make the time and take the time to enjoy them and fully get to know how great they truly are. Work through any past issues or hard feelings, if there are any. Because that relationship is like none other than you will have throughout your life. Because this truly is the right thing to do and it models the way for others. Do business with honorable business owners. Make sure when you're doing business with people that you choose businesses and business owners that are honorable, hard-working, that place customer service first, and are overall good people. That kind of character comes through with businesses and business owners that are in the right field based on their bent, that love their job, and that love what they're doing. Doing business with honorable businesses and business owners is the right thing to do and it models the way for others. Recently I had the opportunity to go pray with people of never met before. It's one of the best things and most rewarding things you can do is to pray with someone that you don't know because someone else would like to be there, but couldn't. Maybe it's because they're in a different town or a different state. But this selfless act by praying with someone during a time of need is like a gift that you give to a stranger just because. Just think how awesome a gift this is, having someone pray in person for your friend or family member because you were physically in able to be there. It is an amazing gift and an opportunity to show God's love and it models the way for others. Please step out of your comfort zone and try it and pass it on. Worry not. Make sure that you don't worry. Worry produces stress and stress is bad on your heart and your body. Make sure that you take care of yourself, your head, your health, and your heart. Find other avenues and ways to reduce and stop stress. Whether it's working out, walking around your neighborhood, or any kind of exercise to get the heart flowing and take your mind off the stress in your life.. After all living worry free is the right thing to do and it models the way for others. "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid." Psalm 27:1 It's amazing when people from all around are praying for the same thing and God answers their prayers. My pastor's wife growing up had a stroke while working at Johns Hopkins University Hospital. And now over a month later she and her husband, my childhood pastor, both get to go back home to Florida. Yay God! Also in the past week, my mother's retired pastor very close friend just had heart surgery and is expected to make a full recovery. This surgery was following a quadruple bi-pass surgery several years ago, so this surgery had some risk. Many prayers went out for this gentleman as well. Yay God! Prayer and turning things over to God is the right thing to do and it models the way for others. Push yourself to do more than you ever thought you could. It's one of the only ways to see a glimpse of your full potential. As the saying goes: "If you think you can or you can't, you're usually right." So starting today push yourself and see a piece of your true potential. It's the right thing to do and it models the way for others. The Urban Dictionary defines unconditional love as: "To love somebody with no conditions or circumstances: to love completely." It's very important that children, your family and your spouse feel unconditional love. Because when they don't, it creates a really bad situation and impacts confidence, freedom to be one's self, along with a variety of feelings that are not needed or helpful with having a healthy relationship. Give and show unconditional love to those you truly love, after all it's one of the best gifts you can give, it's the right thing to do, and it models the way for others. |
