Being part of a winning team

9/12/2016

It is so exciting to be part of a winning team and continuing to challenge those on the team to do more. That only happens when The leader does more. The growth of a team can not surpass the vision cast for that team by it's leader. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Where were you when? (9/11/16 blog)

Where were you when the first tower was hit 15 years ago? Most everyone remembers where you were and when that happened how you felt. Knowing how you felt then, it is easier to know how you will feel when difficult times happen. I know as for me it is easier to be brave and courageous in the future when I need to be. Plus, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Courage (9/10/16 blog)

According to Dictionary.com Courage is defined as "the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear." Take time to think and understand that if you were faced with a situation where you needed to have courage, would you rise to the occasion? Could you say "let's roll" and take action? If you decide now, then when or if you were ever faced with a situation where you need to be courageous, you would know your answer in advance so you could take action. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Say thank you to your parents

If you haven't done it yet, make sure to take time to thank your parents. Most every parent wants what's best for their children and goes out of their way to help them have and do and be more than the parents themselves had at their children's age. A lot of sacrifice goes into being a parent and sometimes it's just great for parent to hear that their children thank them and appreciate all that they do and have done for them. Plus, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Words of praise

I have always had a hard time receiving words of praise. Specifically if it was from an employee or direct report. I think the reason is that I wake up every day with a purpose. To help this on my team become better than they were before they knew me. When you know what God designed you for and you wake every day a get to go do it, for me it is a humbling experience and a blessing to go be able to do that daily. Plus, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

If you are in sales, and your results are not where you want them to be, take a look at the basic fundamentals of your role. Are you doing everything you can do with maximum intensity and focus? If not, spend time going back to the basic fundamentals and focus on those. If executed properly, which fundamentals will have the biggest impact on your overall results? Figure it out, and apply those sooner rather than later. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

You have been healed (9/4/16 blog post)

20 But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God.21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

22

“He committed no sin,
and no deceit was found in his mouth.”[a]

23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. 24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

Sometimes you just know, but is that enough?

Sometimes you just know that it's the right thing. It could be regarding a purchase, a mate, an interview, or a variety of different options. I believe that jut instinct is important, but I have found that using your guy is not enough. I am s big believer that past performance predicts future behavior. And using past performance with your gut instinct can help you make wise decisions. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
