Take the time to train. Be open to learning. Give the repect to the trainer as the same respect you would want if you were going to train the class. What you can learn in a classroom can many times help you be better than just in your career. So take it serious, be open to training and learning. After all it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
Put together your plan. Whether it is your sales plan to exceed your objective or your plan to retire, or anything in between. Execute at a high level on your your plan. Decide beforehand your plan and go make it happen. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others. Get to know and work with other departments. Don't just focus on sales. Once you realize and understand that even though sales drives many organizations, it's the entire teamwork from ALL of the departments in a company that puts sales in a position to win versus just hitting a number. After all when you work with all of the departments that is when you realize that this is where you can truly win. It's the right thing to do and it models the way for others. Simplify your life and keep in contact with those you care about and those that care about you. After all it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others Six days are set aside for work, but on the Sabbath day you must rest, even during the seasons of plowing and harvest. -Exodus 34:21 NLT Don't get stuck. No, I'm not referring to being stuck in the mud (even though that experience is not good), but I am referring to being stuck where you are. If you are not growing you are most likely stuck. Being stuck can impact your attitude, mood and energy. Your vision for yourself and your future may be foggy. Many times when you get stuck, you put off negative energy and others stop enjoying working with you or even for you. Check yourself at the door and go do something to grow to make sure you don't get stuck. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others. There is no need to be bitter. It doesn't do anyone any good, especially you. Stinkin' thinkin' is a downward spiral, so choose to drink from the glass that is half full, versus taking the last few sips from the glass that is half empty. Don't be bitter. Be happy for others when great things happen because it is the right thing to do and it models the way for others. Sometimes you just have to work late. Are you willing to stay late and work late if needed? Not every day, but as needed. In order to get caught up, in order to stay ahead, in order to plan to win, and in order to win. So make sure that you take time and make the time to stay late if you need to. After all, it's the right thing to do and models the way for others When you practice something whether it's a sales process role play or a party in a play, practice perfect. What I mean by this is practice it 100% correct, not 90% correct, but 100% correct. Stop the person or yourself and have them redo it until they get it right. The only way to be a rock star is to practice it perfect over and over again until you get it 100% right. That way, when it's show time you nail it and get it right. After all practicing perfect so you get s 100% versus settling for 90% is the right thing to do and it models the way for others. The best way to get better at selling is to practice drill rehearse, or by doing verbal judo. I learned the practice drill rehearse theory from Southwestern Consulting and the verbal judo from the company I work for. Practice setting the appointment if your goal is to set an appointment. Practice to set the appointment and don't take no for an answer. Be assertive, be aggressive, but set the appointment. Don't practice on your customers, but practice with your peers. The only way to get better and improve your sales skill is to practice. So make time to practice drill rehearse and execute at a high level. After all it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others. |
