The best way to get better at selling is to practice drill rehearse, or by doing verbal judo. I learned the practice drill rehearse theory from Southwestern Consulting and the verbal judo from the company I work for. Practice setting the appointment if your goal is to set an appointment. Practice to set the appointment and don't take no for an answer. Be assertive, be aggressive, but set the appointment. Don't practice on your customers, but practice with your peers. The only way to get better and improve your sales skill is to practice. So make time to practice drill rehearse and execute at a high level. After all it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
