Find a way to remember people's names and how you met them. When you do this it makes people feel special and it shows you care about people. Find a way that works for you to remember whether it is word association, taking notes on your iPhone or smart phone, or repeat the name until the names sinks into your memory. After all remembering people's names is the right thing to do and it models the way for others.

Colossians 3:12-13, NET Today I celebrate 10 years working for the same company. Being with the same company for 10 years you learn things and see the company change, grow and evolve. My goal is to stay and retire with this company and I feel very blessed to work with great people and a great company. Be thankful for what you have, for what you do, and for where you work. Celebrating that you have a job, a career and and a great place to work is the right thing to do and it models the way for others. Being physically prepared for a meeting, conversation, or event is only part of being prepared. The other part of being prepared is being mentally prepared. Asking yourself questions to prepare yourself can go a long way. Questions like: how do you think the conversation will go, what objections or obstacles do you think will come up in the conversation and then how would you handle those objections or obstacles. Mental preparation will help your confidence for the conversation or meeting and give you the best opportunity to have the best outcome, by having the best conversation possible. Being mentally prepared is the right thing to do and it models the way for others. I met with a potential customer today and had the opportunity to ask a lot of questions. This potential customer was very gracious with his time and he gave me the information I needed to get a clear picture of his company's current and desired situation. Asking questions, not just any question, but rather high-gain questions helps you get the quick understanding to any given situation. Asking questions shows you care, whether about a client's business, about your spouse, significant other or friend. Asking questions in conversation is the right thing to do and it models the way for others. "Let the wife make the husband glad to come home, and let him make her sorry to see him leave." -Martin Luther Reviews at work can be a great opportunity to recognize successes as well as spot opportunities to bend the trend and make an impact. Realize that top management can come across as paid critics, but the real value is to help you see blind spots that you may never have seen before it's to late to bend the trend. Take the feedback like it was a gift, it's only useful if you use it. Taking feedback and acting up on it is the right thing to do and it models the way for others. Encourage others don't threaten. You will get more out of others and see greater improvement by encouraging others instead of threatening them. This works for business, relationships and parenting. Seek to understand, help to solve and resolve, model the way, and use encouraging words to get the best results. Lead with the heart first, then the head for best results. After all using encouraging words is the right thing to do and it models the way for others. A Time for Everything3 There is a time for everything, 2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to love and a time to hate, Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8New International Version (NIV) |
