Presentation is very important for any leader. Whether it's working hard stay attractive or looking your best, or making time to stay in shape. Also make sure you watch the words that you use and watch how you present things. All of that gets incorporated into the presentation of what you present. Having the right presentation is important because you never get a second chance to make a good first impression. Take time to take care of yourself and present yourself the best way possible. After all this is the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
Show your love through mor e than just saying words, show it in your actions. Make sure actions you show those that you love and care about how much you love them. By the way you talk and what you do helps others know how much you love them. As Andy Stanley said , "make love a verb." The words you say are a representation of what's going on inside your heart and your head. But your actions should be a representation of the words and feelings that you have so make sure that they reflect that. After all showing those you love is the right thing to do and it models the way for others. Get on the same page with your spouse, whether it's regarding your finances, how to raise your childre, or just setting aside time to communicate. Getting on the same page helps your marriage long-term be healthier and it will help you improve your communication. Being on the same page is the right thing to do models to way for others. My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials. James 1:2 What did you learn today? I constantly ask myself this and ask this of others. What did you learn today to make sure that you were learning something new every day and continuing to grow. The older you get the more set in your ways you will become. And being open to learning something new every day keeps your mind fresh and you open to new ways of doing things. It's a better way to live and models the way for others. Have you tried "googling" yourself or doing a search on Google, Yahoo or Bing to see what shows up about you. Try it and see what you find. You might be amazed about how much detail or specific things from your past show up online. And for millennials or x-generation and the y-generation all of their information will be online. Make sure you capture from anyone over 40 or 50 anything that you want to know about them before they're gone. Because the data and what they know or have in their head maybe lost forever if you don't stop to ask what you want to know. Stop and ask and look online, and model the way for others. Texting is not communicating. To me texting is just the transfer of information, but verbally communicating with someone is real communication. When you want to communicate with someone make sure you use words, sit down and have a face-to-face conversation because otherwise texting and sometimes even emails lose the message behind the meaning and the message can get lost. So make sure that you talk and use words. And that you don't just use texting to communicate. After all communicating and over communicating is the best way to have any relationship and it models the way for others. Whenever you are explaining something to someone who thinks differently than you do, which is most people, make sure you customize your message to them in the best way possible for them to receive it. And if they receive it well, there's a greater chance for actual usage from the information given. Understanding how someone else is wired and customizing your presentation for them to best receive it, is a sign of caring, experience and an ability to adapt to get the best outcome. Make sure you customize your message, and then watch how much better your message can be received. You'll be surprised how much more of and impact you can make with those around you when given the opportunity or asked. It's the right thing to do and it models the way for others. The jokes on you. Being able to joke around and laugh together as a couple is a sign of a healthy relationship. Be sure that you learn each other's humor style whether it's silly funny, sarcasm, jokester or whatever might be and learn to be able to laugh together. Sometimes in life when things get too serious it's good to lighten things up and just be able to laugh together. After all it's a better way to do life together and model the way for this you love. |
