He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

Take time to create memories this Easter. Whether you dye eggs, make resurrection rolls or some other memorable food, and go to church. Make time to show those around you about more than just the Easter Bunny and springtime. Read the story of Jesus' death and reserection from the dead and the forgiveness of our sins. Read Luke 22-24. Celebrate the true meaning of Easter. Hallelujah. Make sure that you take time to dance. Last night I had the opportunity to play with my kids in the backyard and dance with them too. We had the music playing as we ran around and played tag. We jumped around, the kids played on the playground, and we danced. We just had a really good time. Creating great memories with you and your family are well worth it. And taking time, to make time to dance helps you enjoy the true joys in life and it models the way for others. Take time to mentor someone. If you are in a leadership role or maybe even if you're not, take time to mentor someone. Know that if you're reading this chances are you have experiences and things that have happened in your life that you can help others learn about and either not make the same mistakes or do it better than if you did it. Being able to help other by mentoring someone is one the best things you can do to help others and model the way. I recently had the opportunity to mentor a student at the University of Louisville who is a senior in a sales marketing class and part of their class was to have a mentor. I've had the opportunity this semester to meet with the student on multiple occasions and to be able to share what I've learned about leadership. The student already has a job lined up to be in a managerial training program for two years with the top company. Giving this student some insight into leading people and what I've learned over the last 15 to 20 years can only help them become a better leader and as my mentee said " pay it forward." Take time and make time to mentor someone. After all mentoring is a good thing to do and it models the way for others. Watch the words that you say. Using tentative words like "I think, maybe, might, should, could," or alternative words can lead people to believe that you're not confident about what you're talking about. So confidence comes from experience and knowledge, but using the right words and avoiding other words help you to be more confident. When you're speaking to a group or to someone. The word you say truly do matter and being confident in the words that you say helps the right message come across. If you're in sales and it's important for you to to have customers believe and know what you're saying is true, then watch the words you say. Watch words in your vocabulary. Be confident, be dynamic, speak with passion, and speak with inflection, to improve the delivery of your message. Be confident and choose the right words and watch the impact you can have and models the way for others. Make sure that you read the entire message . Whether it is an email or a note make sure that you read the entire thing because there could be something that you're being asked to do or something that you need to know. If it's from your manager and they say please come see me on the specific day to discuss this, then make sure you do just that. The ball is in your court to go make that happen. Don't wait for them to come see you or have to ask you again. After all reading the entire message and understanding what you need to do or what you need to understand is the right thing to do and it models the way for others. If you are a husband or father make sure that you lead in your home. Make time and take time to communicate and talk about your dreams and find out your wife's dreams. Where would you'll you like to go? What would you like to do? Who would you like to meet? What business would you like to start? If you don't take the lead you will never know? Step up, slow down, and make time for each other to communicate and grow together. After all it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others. "Good-tempered leaders invigorate lives; they're like spring rain and sunshine." Proverbs 16:15 (The Message) Part of the prayer that I pray with my kids every night is this: "May our family be a family of great communication, great experiences, and great memories, and more than just about having more things." Because with things, it's just stuff, you can't take it with you so focus on the other three because that's with a real joy in life comes from and it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others. Hope is defined as the belief that something good can come from something bad. To be hopeful is to see the good in the situation or relationship. It's being future focused on where you want to go and where you want to end up, and then feeling good about it. Hopelessness is where you really just don't believe that any good can come out of the situation. It's a bad place to be in a relationship, a marriage, at work or just in general. Having hope in all situations that the good will come out of a situation is the right thing to do and it models the way for others. |
