In order for you to get better, you have to have a plan. I just spent the last six hours working on mine. If you don't take the time you'll never get better, because you won't have a plan in place to help get you there. Having a plan to get better is like a road map of where you are and where you want to be. So make sure that you have a talent management developmental plan and that you execute it at a high-level, because after all your career future is counting on it...and so is your checkbook. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
