Take time to mentor someone. If you are in a leadership role or maybe even if you're not, take time to mentor someone. Know that if you're reading this chances are you have experiences and things that have happened in your life that you can help others learn about and either not make the same mistakes or do it better than if you did it. Being able to help other by mentoring someone is one the best things you can do to help others and model the way. I recently had the opportunity to mentor a student at the University of Louisville who is a senior in a sales marketing class and part of their class was to have a mentor. I've had the opportunity this semester to meet with the student on multiple occasions and to be able to share what I've learned about leadership. The student already has a job lined up to be in a managerial training program for two years with the top company. Giving this student some insight into leading people and what I've learned over the last 15 to 20 years can only help them become a better leader and as my mentee said " pay it forward." Take time and make time to mentor someone. After all mentoring is a good thing to do and it models the way for others.
