If you hurt someone, tell them verbally and follow up with them and apologize to them. I recommend that you verbally communicate like we do in our family: "I am sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. Please forgive me." Next, put your words on paper and write them a note telling them the same thing. Then finally, put your words into action, and work to not hurt them again. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
