Ask the right questions if you truly want to understand any situation. Whether you are on a sales call or having a conversation with a friend, think through the questions you want to ask to uncover the opportunity or issue. I typically call asking the right questions that give you the most information "high-gain questions." That along with asking the right questions in a specific order can help get to the root of the problem, issue or opportunity and can envoke change. Take time to listen before giving a recommendation or advice because each situation is different, enough though some may appear similar on the surface. Asking the right questions can guide you towards a solution, plus it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
