How many emails do you have in your inbox? That is the question I was asked a few months ago. My answer was "all of them." Since then I have been moving towards cleaning up my email inbox and setting up a proactive system to get ahead and stay on top of my emails. What are you doing to increase your productivity ? By only touching emails once it can allow you more time for your family, friends, or other tasks that you need? Improve how you handle your emails, if it's an issue for you. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way others.
Do you remember your dreams? Do you happen to have the same dream repeat over and over? My daughter came in and told me this morning that she had the same recurring dream. After telling me the details of her dream, she then told me that she has had the same dream over the last couple years. I too as a young child had the same dream happen over and over. What are your dreams telling you? Maybe there's a message in there for you from your subconscious that you need to pay attention to. Something , that whether you are a child or an adult, look, listen and pay attention for opportunities for you to become better than you were. Are you missing out on quality time with your spouse, family, or friends? Are you doing something that maybe you shouldn't ? Or maybe something you should be doing. Pay attention to your subconscious, because there could be s message within the message.. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
"You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below."
-Exodus 20:4 (NIV) "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." This may be something you remember from your childhood, but it is actually not true. With sticks and stones the wounds most likely will heal, but words...words can cut like a knife and they may impact a lifetime. So choose your words wisely and don't say something you might regret. You can't retract the words you say and take them back. While others who are the recipients of your words may forgive you for what you said, they won't forget. The words may linger in their head for a long, long time. So think before you speak and don't say anything that you would regret. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
Training does the body good. It also does the mind good. If you don't read or learn anything, you will just remain the way you today...only older. Think about friends you know from high school that never grew or never learned, did you recognize them at a high school reunion? Were they more popular than you ,or prettier too, more handsome than you, or were they with the popular crew? Take time to train and learn to become better than you were. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
what is your preferred mode of communication? What is your audience's preferred mode of communication? Understanding how someone wants to be communicated with can increase your overall impact of communication. By asking do you prefer a phone call, email, text, or even a face-to-face meeting. It gives you the best way to communicate in the manner that they want to be communicated with. After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
