Growing up this poem was on a sign in our house with one of my siblings. I'm not sure it had the intended outcome. As a parent and a leader, make sure to inspire and cast a vision. And for those younger than you, you may need to explain the "why." Don't just tell them what to do. Leadership, whether for a family or at work, requires more. Help them see the way and don't just put a "motivational plaque" in front of them to inspire re them. After all that's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
A Smile
"A smile is something nice to see, it doesn't cost a cent.
A smile is something all your own, it never can be lent.
A smile is welcome everywhere, it does away with frowns.
A smile is good for everyone, to help them when they're down."
