Family should be there through the good times and the bad. It's okay to be yourself or just show your vulnerabilities. Check your ego at the door. Sometimes, even at 90+ year's old, you might hear a family member say..."I don't like for you to see me this way." And my response, the best response I could come up with, " it's okay, we're family, and that's how families should be and this is how I choose for our family to be.." I truly believe you should be true to who you really are, especially around your family. There is no better place to demonstrate servant leadership than within your family. After all, that what your family is for...plus it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
