SME stands for "Subject Matter Expert." So what are you a subject matter expert in? Chances are there's something that you know really well. Whatever that is, you should work in that industry because most likely it's something that you love to do, are really good at, or it's your calling. Find work that you love to do and you probably won't call it work. After all, it's the right thing to do and models the way for others.
