So you need to imagine it finished. I say this, because if you don't measure and look ahead then sometimes the job may not be done because additional things may need to happen in order to complete the job. For example we just redid our kitchen and the holes that were cut in the granite for the faucet are too close to the wall based on where the windowsill is above the kitchen sink.So now we either have to pick out another kitchen faucet or take out the windowsill, then recut it and make it closer to the wall so the sink faucet will work. This goes back to you should "measure twice and cut once." After all, it's the right thing to do and it models the way for others.
