If you are "all in" you show up. Even if you have the flu and even if you have a fever... you show up. It's better to show up and have them ask you or tell you to go home, than you not show up because you decided. Let your manager decide you should be in bed versus you deciding. After all, your behaviors demonstrate what's going on on the inside more than your words. Plus, it models the way for others.
